Hiring & team building

When hiring for growth, favor intelligence, character and coachability over prior experience. Listen

Frederik uses the ICE criteria of intelligence, character, coachability and experience to score candidates in interviews. He usually takes people strong on intelligence, character and coachability over those with more experience, because those people grow quickly, while experience is a matter of days, weeks or months. He still wants a minimum level of relevant experience.

“I usually take people that are very high intelligence character and then coachability as well over the over the experience because those people are going to grow quickly.”
